News and Events throughout our Conference

We would like to invite all churches across the BC Conference to participate in a special Prayer Sabbath on Sabbath, May 30, in support of Pastor Brad Thorp.

As many of you know, Pastor Thorp recently made the decision to return to retirement due to health-related challenges. During this time, we want to come together as a Conference family to uplift Pastor Brad and his family in prayer, as well as those in your churches going through similar battles.

To assist with this special emphasis, Pastor Wayne Culmore has recorded a short video message that we are asking churches to play during the Sabbath morning service on May 30. We encourage every congregation to take a few moments during the service to pray for Pastor Brad, his health, and his family.

We will be singing Pastor Brad’s favourite song, “We Have This Hope”, as well as reading his favourite scripture, Proverbs 4:18

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Please find below the weekly video to be presented in your churches this Sabbath, May 30,  2026.

An important leadership update for the Seventh-day Adventist Church (British Columbia Conference).

Following Pastor Brad Thorp’s decision to return to retirement due to health-related reasons, the Board of Directors voted on April 26, 2026, to appoint Pastor Wayne Culmore as Interim President of the British Columbia Conference, effective May 4, 2026.

Pastor Culmore previously served as Conference President and is well known across our territory for his leadership, pastoral care, and commitment to the mission of the Church. His willingness to serve during this time of transition brings continuity and reassurance to our Conference family.
